At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, an individual attended a gas bar in the area of Concession Street and Bath Road. 

While at the gas pump area, the individual was observed with what appeared to be a white handgun. The individual then began walking toward the gas bar and pacing out front while moving the item across their face and neck, and eventually pointing it toward the glass at the front of the gas bar. The individual then began to point the item at various objects on the property.

The Kingston Police Traffic Safety Unit is finding additional uses for its collision reconstruction drone to combat distracted driving and make local roadways safer.

The Kingston Police has joined the first-ever provincewide campaign to tackle 9-1-1 misuse, an issue that continues to strain emergency services. The Emergency Services Steering Committee (ESSC) has launched the "When Every Second Counts" campaign aimed at reducing non-emergency 9-1-1 calls and educating the public on proper use of 9-1-1. 

The Kingston Police is now using Alertable to send emergency alerts and day-to-day community notices for facilities, roads, parks, schools, various municipal services, pandemics, fires, floods, severe weather, other hazards and more.

A coordinated investigation led by the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit, in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Central Hastings Community Street Crime Unit and the Peterborough/Northumberland Street Crime Unit, has resulted in multiple arrests and substantial drug and weapons seizures across several jurisdictions.
