The Kingston Police Community Volunteers are hosting a recruiting drive on Tuesday September 30, 2025, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Kingston Police headquarters. 

Members of the Kingston Police Major Crime Division are currently investigating the death of an individual whose body was located near the east shoreline of Navy Bay on September 21, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

On Friday September 12, 2025, the Kingston Police were notified of threatening remarks that had been made over an instant messaging platform. Due to the nature of these remarks, it triggered a notification to the RCMP, the Ontario Provincial Police, and ultimately the Kingston Police, as the target of this threat included a specific religious institution located in Kingston. 

In the summer of 2025, a new initiative was created as a result of ongoing community concerns and complaints from both residents and businesses about the increased use of drugs in public spaces.

The Kingston Fall Fair was shut down early on Saturday evening after multiple incidents occurred which required police intervention.

On September 12, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m. a member of the Kingston Police Patrol Division was conducting routine patrol in the area of Division Street and Stanley Street.

The Kingston Police have seen a recent increase in the number of ‘porch pirate’ or package theft incidents being reported. 

The Kingston Police are seeking public assistance identifying two suspects who were involved in a fraud incident which occurred at the beginning of June at several businesses throughout the city. 

In August of 2025, members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit launched an investigation into persons actively involved in the trafficking of fentanyl and other illicit drugs within the City of Kingston.

The Kingston Police Service Board and Chief Scott Fraser today jointly announce that Chief of Police Scott Fraser will retire effective December 31, 2025. Chief Fraser leaves the Kingston Police after a distinguished career marked by steady leadership, significant accomplishments, and a commitment to advancing the Board’s Strategic Plan and the community’s values.
