Three arrested following suspicious activity call

On July 23, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m. members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1500 block of Westbrook Road. The vehicle was observed dropping off two individuals who were wearing black masks.

Responding officers located the two masked individuals in the rear yard of a residence standing beside an open door. Upon being confronted one of the individuals fled on foot however was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

The second individual was arrested in the yard without incident. A subsequent search revealed the second individual was in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun and a large quantity of cocaine.

Additional officers located the vehicle a short distance away. A third individual seated in the vehicle was also taken into custody.

A 24-year-old individual of Whitby was arrested and charged with the following offences.

·       Carry concealed weapon.

·       Unauthorized possession of a firearm.

·       Unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon.

·       Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.

·       Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized.

·       Careless storage of a firearm.

·       Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking.

·       Break and enter with intent.

·       Possession for the purpose of trafficking

Additionally, a 28-year-old of Pickering was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and break and enter. The 33-year-old driver of the vehicle from Toronto was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

All three individuals were transported to Kingston Police headquarters where they were held for a bail hearing.

In total officers seized a Glock 9mm handgun, 7 rounds of ammunition, approximately 250 grams of cocaine, a quantity of Canadian currency, multiple cellular phones and a quantity of pills.
