Rapid Police Response Leads to Arrest Following Assaults and Property Damage

On May 30, 2026, at approximately 5:25 p.m., Kingston Police received multiple calls reporting an individual trying to assault members of the public in the area of Princess Street and Barrie Street.
At approximately 5:27 p.m., further report was received indicating the individual had also caused significant damage inside a local business in the area.
Officers responded immediately and arrived on scene at approximately 5:30 p.m., where they located the suspect nearby. The individual was taken into custody at approximately 5:34 p.m. without further incident. The arrest occurred less than 10 minutes after the initial reports were received, highlighting the swift and coordinated response of responding officers.
A 28-year-old Kingston resident was transported to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. The individual has been charged with:
- 1 count of Mischief – property damage exceeding $5,000
- 4 counts of Breach of Probation
- 1 count of Disobeying a Lawful Order
The incident was resolved through prompt and coordinated police action following immediate deployment of officers to the area. Within approximately nine minutes of the initial call, officers had located and arrested the individual, demonstrating Kingston Police's ongoing commitment to public safety.
