Quick Response by Kingston Police Leads to Rapid Arrest Following Robbery

On May 30th at approximately 5:30pm, an individual was observed in a local business in the area of Princess Street and Barrie Street where they were seen to be shoplifting. Upon confrontation by an employee, the individual claimed to have a weapon, threatened the employee and then assaulted them.
Members of the Kingston Police Patrol Unit responded to the area at approximately 5:33pm, located the individual and placed them under arrest without incident at 5:34pm.
The 18 year-old individual was transported to Kingston Police and held for bail hearing. The individual was charged with:
- 1 count of Robbery/Offensive Weapon
- 1 count of Carry concealed weapon
- 1 count of Possess Weapon
- 1 count of Imitation Firearm/Commit Indictable Offence
- 1 count of Assault
- 1 count of Uttering Threats/Death of Bodily Harm
- 1 count of Fail to Comply with YCJA Sentence
