Police involved incident on Wabaan Crossing

Kingston Police have closed the Waaban Crossing in both directions due to a police involved shooting and subsequent investigation. There is no risk to public safety.

The incident occurred on August 26, 2026 at approximately 9:40 a.m. 

The Wabaan Crossing will be closed in both directions for an extended period of time. Please avoid the area and choose an alternate route. 

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been contacted by the Kingston Police. No additional information is available at this time.
