Educator arrested for assault after incident with student

On November 18, 2024, the Kingston Police received a complaint regarding a child being assaulted by an educator at a school within the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.

On November 13, 2024, an educator was involved in an incident which resulted in the student being assaulted by the educator and receiving minor injuries. 

On November 27, 2024, the 58-year-old accused individual of Sydenham was arrested and charged with one count of assault. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
