Downtown area arrests result in drug and weapon seizures.

Two arrests made this week by the Kingston Police Downtown Foot Patrol Officers have resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of street drugs and weapons.
On October 8, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m. the Kingston Police Downtown Foot Patrol Officers assisted Patrol Officers with an investigation in the downtown area.
As a result of the investigation two individuals were detained and subsequently searched. One of the individuals was found to be in possession of approximately 9 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of Canadian currency as well as an edged and blunt force weapon.
A 32-year-old Kingston individual was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and possession of weapons dangerous to public peace. The accused was transported to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

On October 10, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m. the Kingston Police Downtown Foot Patrol Officers were doing routine patrol in the downtown core when they observed an exchange of street drugs occur between two individuals.
Upon speaking to the individuals involved, officers determined that one of the individuals was providing them with a false name. The individual was arrested for obstructing police. Upon searching the individual incident to arrest officers discovered the individual to be in possession of approximately 5 ounces of crystal methamphetamine and a small quantity of crack cocaine.
A 67-year-old individual originally from Belleville, now living in Kingston, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule 1 substance, obstruct police and two counts of breach of probation. The individual was transported to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
