Police respond to report of weapon at local school

On November 14, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m. members of the Kingston Police promptly responded to a report of an individual with a weapon inside Kingston Secondary School.

The school was subsequently placed in lockdown as officers investigated the matter.

At approximately 12:50 p.m. officers safely located the individual within the school as well as the object originally believed to be a weapon. It was determined there was no risk to student safety and the lockdown was lifted. 

No criminal charges have been laid in relation to this incident.
