West end hit-and-run vehicle sought that struck pedestrian

25-36874

Kingston Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle and driver involved in an October collision where a pedestrian standing on a west-end front lawn was struck.

On October 9, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m. a 65-year-old male was mowing the front lawn of a residence in the 100-block of Welborne Ave. When near the curb he was struck from behind by a southbound car, receiving lower extremity injuries that required hospitalization as a result of the collision.

The involved vehicle was observed to be a white sedan, whose driver did not stop or render aid, continuing south on Welborne Ave and then made a left-hand turn to go east on Front Rd towards the area of Days Rd.

Police are asking residents who have security cameras in the neighbourhood, including streets of interest such as Welborne Ave, Front Rd, Chelsea Rd, Glen Castle Rd, Henderson Rd, etc., to check past footage for this white sedan on the day in question.

Additionally, local residents aware of any problematic motorists who drive a similar vehicle where speeding or aggressive driving is an issue, and can provide a licence plate or address where the vehicle is parked, are also asked to contact police.

Information can be directed to Sergeant Steve Koopman at skoopman@kingstonpolice.ca or via 613-549-4660 ext. 6186.
