Well-coordinated search leads to the safe recovery of a person in distress

On Sunday April 12, 2026, the Kingston Police received a report of an individual in distress somewhere in the area of John Counter Boulevard and Division Street. 

Limited information was available to officers, however through the course of investigation officers were able to determine the make and model of a vehicle associated with the individual in need of assistance.

Kingston Police Traffic Safety Drone operators were dispatched to assist members of the Patrol Division. Within the hour, Traffic Safety Drone operators located a vehicle registered to the individual in the immediate area.

Patrol officers responded immediately and located the individual inside the vehicle. The occupant was taken to Kingston General Hospital to receive medical care. This incident highlights one of the many vital roles drone technology plays in modern police operations.
