Police investigating north end assault

Members of the Kingston Police Criminal Investigations Division are investigating an assault that occurred overnight in the City’s north end. 

On July 14, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m. the Kingston Police received a report of an individual on the ground in the Compton Street area. Attending officers located the individual in the fire access lane which runs between Compton Street and Wilson Street.

The individual was suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries which appeared to have been caused by an edged weapon. They were transported to hospital to receive further care.

Although the suspect had fled the area prior to police arrival and has not yet been located investigators do not believe there is a further risk to public safety.
