26-3890
On February 2, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m. an individual attended the Collision Reporting Centre located within the front lobby of the Kingston Police Station in order to report a collision that took place earlier in the day.
The individual spoke with a representative of the Collision Reporting Center and was directed to fill out paperwork pertaining to the collision.
A short while later the representative noted loud music coming from the individual’s vehicle. The representative also noticed the individual was now slumped over the vehicle’s steering wheel, asleep, while the music continued to play.
Members of the patrol division attended the front parking lot of the Kingston Police Station to speak with the individual. Upon doing so it was noted that the individual smelled of an alcoholic beverage, and officers observed two open containers of alcohol within the vehicle.
The individual was then escorted into the police station. Once inside the individual provided two samples of their breath into an approved instrument for analysis. Both samples registered a reading of more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
The 35-year-old Kingston resident was charged with impaired operation as well as impaired operation - exceed blood alcohol concentration. They were later released with a future court date.
