Novice driver charged after vehicle collides with building

On December 8, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m. members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in the 200 block of Brock Street.

On arrival officers located a vehicle that had crashed into the bottom window of a residence on Brock Street. The vehicle suffered extensive damage while the structural integrity of the residence was not affected.

Upon speaking to the driver of the motor vehicle officers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested.

The driver was taken to Kingston Police headquarters where they provided two samples of their breath, both of which registered a reading under the legal limit.

The 22-year-old driver of Kingston was issued a 3-day license suspension for being a novice driver and having any level of BAC above zero, the driver was also charged with careless driving and no valid permit.
