In May 2025, members of the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit launched an investigation into a male suspect actively involved in the trafficking of fentanyl within the City of Kingston.
Utilizing investigative techniques, officers identified an individual and residence connected to the illegal drug trade.
As a result, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was obtained. On Thursday, July 24, 2025, with the assistance of the Kingston Police Emergency Response Unit and Canine Unit, the warrant was executed at a residence on Joseph Street.
Upon entry, officers located a lone individual in possession of a loaded Glock .40 calibre handgun containing 12 rounds, including 4 hollow-point bullets.
A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of over $82,000. In addition, officers recovered a quantity of Canadian currency, believed to be proceeds of crime.
A 19-year-old individual from the Greater Toronto Area has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking ×3 (fentanyl, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine), possession of proceeds of Crime and numerous Firearm charges. They were transported to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
The accused was previously released on charges related to drug trafficking laid by Durham Regional Police Service.
This seizure underscores the continued influx of fentanyl and other harmful substances into our community and highlights the risk posed by individuals targeting Kingston to profit from the addiction and suffering of others. The Kingston Police remain committed to identifying and arresting those responsible for drug trafficking and firearms-related offences within our city.
