Kingston Police Community Volunteers in the community educating on CAMSafe this weekend
Kingston Police Community Volunteers will be out in the community this Saturday, December 13, in the downtown core educating business owners on CAMSafe – a community safety initiative that bridges the gap between law enforcement and the public by creating a centralized registry of private security cameras.
Members of the public, both individuals and business’s, can register their cameras voluntarily, providing law enforcement with valuable resources to enhance investigations. This innovative platform empowers police officers with a streamlined, map‐based interface to locate and contact participants, fostering collaboration and improving community safety.
CAMSafe.ca is a voluntary community‐based initiative that connects public and police resources through registered CCTV cameras to enhance safety and support investigations, helping make our neighborhoods safer together.
Please note, signing up your camera will allow police to see the contact information you provided only, they cannot view your camera surveillance at a given time. If a crime happens nearby, police can reach out to you directly and request your footage. CAMSafe does not require your account login information or access to your cameras – it is simply a voluntary registry of camera owners.
