Kingston Police Celebrate a Successful Annual Shop with a Cop Event

Kingston, ON — Kingston Police are pleased to announce the successful completion of the annual Shop with a Cop event, a holiday initiative that continues to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Started more than a decade ago, Shop with a Cop was created to provide children in the Kingston community the opportunity to experience the joy of the holiday season by shopping for gifts with local police officers. The event allows children to select presents for themselves and their families while building positive relationships with officers in a fun, welcoming environment.

The success of Shop with a Cop would not be possible without the generous partnership of the Cataraqui Centre, whose ongoing support and hospitality have helped make each year’s event a memorable experience for participating children.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our donors:

  •            Peter Kostogiannis, Rockwell Commercial Real Estate
  •            Bryon Springer, Springer Group of Companies
  •            Douglas Springer, Springer Group of Companies
  •            Scott and Jennifer Botting
  •            Trevor Trewartha, 1dea Design + Media Inc
  •            Karen Bonhomme, 1dea Design + Media Inc
  •            Michael Gencarelli, Loblaws 1100 Princess St.

Their generosity helped make the magic of Shop with a Cop possible for so many children and families this holiday season.

Kingston Police would also like to thank all officers, volunteers and organizers, who contributed their time and efforts to ensure the event’s continued success.

“On behalf of all the officers and civilians who participated in this event, it was an honour and a privilege to work with these youth. This is my third year of running the Shop with a Cop event, and this year more than ever, there was an outstanding amount of deserving youth. I would like to thank our donors for their generation donations, this event would not be possible without their continued support.” -  Constable Valerie Hurding
