25-26863

On July 30, 2025, a member of the Kingston Police C.O.R.E Unit was conducting routine patrol in the area of Rideau St when he observed an individual walking with a high-end bicycle.

Upon seeing the officer, the individual immediately got on the bike and began cycling in the opposite direction. Suspecting that the bike may be stolen the officer located the individual on Corrigan Street.

A query of the bike’s serial number revealed it had been stolen during a break and enter earlier this year. The individual was arrested, and a subsequent search revealed the individual was in possession of a folding knife as well as a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

The 29-year-old individual of no fixed address was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace and possession of a schedule 1 substance. They were transported to Kingston Police headquarters and later released with a future court date.

The bike was seized and will be returned to the rightful owner.
