Incident involving unhoused individual

On December 2, 2025, the Kingston Police became aware of an online post which alleges a store owner intentionally threw water on an unidentified unhoused individual who was situated near the business.

Members of the Kingston Police CORE Unit were able to identify the unhoused individual and speak to them. The individual indicated the incident was a misunderstanding and that police involvement or action in the matter is not wanted or required.

Police also confirmed that numerous community agencies and support services have checked on the individual’s well-being since the incident.
