Suspect breaks into restaurant preparing to open

On February 2, 2023 staff were preparing to open a restaurant on Division Street. At approximately 10:50 a.m. the suspect approached the locked front door and proceeded to force it open. The suspect then entered the restaurant, grabbed an iPad near the front door and immediately fled on foot.

The investigation led officers to the area of Kings Crossing Fashion Outlets on Dalton Avenue.  At approximately 1:50 p.m. officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect. The person was found to be in possession of the iPad and subsequently arrested.

The accused was transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing.

A 43-year-old local individual was charged with break and enter.
