Police make arrest in relation to overnight theft from vehicles

On October 12, 2023 at approximately 3:45 a.m. members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division responded to a report of two suspects attempting to break into cars in the area of Iris Drive and Escala Crescent.

On arrival, Officers located one of the suspects while the second had fled the area. Officers initiated an investigation and subsequently placed the suspect under arrest.

It is believed the suspects entered several vehicles in the area as the arrested individual was found to be in possession of various pieces of personal identification belonging to numerous individuals.

A 16 year-old local youth was arrested and charged with three counts of theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime. The youth was transported to Kingston Police Headquarters where they were held for a bail hearing.
