Police arrest individual for causing mischief and uttering death threats

On February 15, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. the victim stepped outside for fresh air at their residence located in Kingston’s north end.

 

Once outside, the accused, who was a neighbour that lived nearby, engaged the victim in an argument. This exchange culminated in the accused uttering a death threat toward the victim. After being threatened by the accused the victim returned inside to the safety of their residence.

 

At approximately 2:10 p.m. while sitting inside their residence the victim then observed the accused standing outside of their front window. The accused then proceeded to throw a part off of a bicycle through the victim’s front window, shattering the glass in the process. As a result, a large hole was left in the window and numerous shards of glass were strewn throughout the home’s interior.

 

The accused retreated to their residence and police were then notified. Police attended the scene and at approximately 2:30 p.m. the accused was located and arrested without incident at their residence.

 

The accused was subsequently transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

 

A 61-year-old local individual was charged with uttering treats to cause death and mischief to property under $5000.
