Person charged after smashing mother’s vehicle


On April 4, 2023 at approximately 9:14 p.m. police were dispatched to an address on Queen Mary Road for a report of a male smashing up his mother’s vehicle. 

The accused had been staying at the victim’s residence when he un-expectantly got up and started yelling and calling her names. The accused then ran outside and began smashing her vehicle. Responding officers observed significant damage to the vehicle with large dents and broken mirrors. The accused was located nearby and arrested without incident. 

The accused was transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day. 

A 30-year-old local individual was charged with mischief.
