Local individual arrested and charged with numerous drug and firearm related offences

On January 31, 2024, investigators with the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit and the Patrol Division, executed a search warrant at a residence on Grey Street in the City of Kingston. A search of the residence resulted in the following seizures:
- A large quantity of Canadian currency
- Over 200g of cocaine
- Over 100g of fentanyl
- 27g of crystal methamphetamine
- A large quantity of assorted pills
- 2 handguns
- 2 long guns
- Ammunition
- Replica firearms
One male was arrested at the scene and charged with numerous firearms offences and offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for February 1.
The accused, who resides locally, was charged with four counts of possessing a firearm without holding a licence, two counts of being an unlicenced person possessing a restricted weapon, four counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited, three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a Schedule 3 substance, four counts of storing a firearm carelessly, storing ammunition carelessly, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
The Kingston Police would like to express our continued commitment to target those who possess or traffic firearms unlawfully and those involved in drug trafficking, particularly fentanyl and associated derivatives which severely impact our most vulnerable citizens.
