Kingston Police report fines and charges from weekend of September 15-17

Kingston Police is reporting the following fines and charges which were laid in the University District during this past weekend, September 15-17:

Liquor Licence Control Act:

• 107 x Open Liquor
• 6 x Person Under 19 Consume Alcohol

Highway Traffic Act:

• 2 charges

As the school year progresses the Kingston Police are actively enforcing the Liquor Licence and Control Act within post-secondary institution residential areas throughout the community.

Kingston Police are continuing to see high instances of Liquor Licence and Control Act infractions including open alcohol, public intoxication, and underage drinking.

As part of the continued enforcement strategy, individuals who are charged with an offence under the Liquor License and Control Act will receive a Part 1 Summons which requires them to attend a mandatory court appearance and potentially face increased fines that are above the legislated set fines.

The Kingston Police want to remind everyone of the importance of being safe and respectful to their neighbours, especially when participating in social activities.
