Individuals arrested as part of two separate investigations by Kingston Police Street Crime Unit

Individuals have been arrested as part of two separate investigations by the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit and their continuing dedication to combating the influx of dangerous illegal drugs and weapons possession within the City of Kingston.
24-8240:
On March 14, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit arrested an individual in the area of 1130 Montreal Street in the City of Kingston. Upon arrest, the accused was found in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, and Canadian currency.
The following was seized during the arrest:
- 281.4 grams of cocaine
- 37.5 grams of brown fentanyl
- Large quantity of Canadian currency
- Street value $37,515
The accused, Jonathan ANDINO, who is 20 years of age and has no ties to the City of Kingston or surrounding jurisdictions, was subsequently charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of proceeds of crime. He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for March 15, 2024.
24-8213:
On March 14, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m., as part of a separate investigation involving members of the Street Crime Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and Emergency Services Unit, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of MacCauley Street and Montreal Street. During the search a sawed-off shotgun, modified air pistol and other miscellaneous weapons were located and seized.
The accused, who is 39 years of age and resides locally, was subsequently charged with possession of a restricted firearm, careless storage of a firearm, weapons dangerous and possession of a firearm without holding a licence.
The accused was currently on two release orders with Kingston Police for two counts of theft under, two counts of possession of break in tools, two counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of breach of probation, breach of release order and breach of an undertaking. This charged individual is also an accused party for theft under $5000 with Lennox and Addington Ontario Provincial Police. The accused was held pending a bail hearing on March 15,2024.
