Individual arrested and charged with break and enter as well as mischief to property



On June 8, 2024, at approximately 8:55 p.m. police responded to a residential break and enter in progress in the area of MacDonnell Street near First Avenue in the City of Kingston.


Arriving minutes later, officers located the accused, still on scene and at the rear of the residence in question. Upon seeing the police arrive, the accused dropped a tool on the ground, which was collected by the officers at the scene.


Further investigation revealed that the accused had been captured on security video attempting to access the residence by kicking at exterior doors and damaging window screens. The accused had also been observed on video causing damage to the property by lifting siding away from the exterior of the home. No one had been home at the time of the incident.  


At approximately 9:10 p.m. the accused was arrested and subsequently transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing.


Dylan LYNCH, a 49-year-old local individual was charged with break and enter to a dwelling-house with intent, mischief to property under $5000, possessing a break-in instrument, and five counts of breach of probation.
