Police Asking For Information in Hit and Run, Young Pedestrian Injured

On January 18, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m. the suspect vehicle was traveling east on Princess St. The vehicle turned right from Princess St onto Gardiners Rd to head south. A 16-year-old pedestrian was walking east, crossing Gardiners Rd from the southwest corner of the intersection. The youth was approximately half way across the two southbound lanes on Gardiners Road when the suspect vehicle struck her from behind.
The suspect vehicle pulled over to the side of the road a little south of the intersection. A female believed to be the passenger indicated her husband did not see the youth. The female offered to take the victim to the hospital, but when she was 911 had been called she left and the vehicle took off, heading southbound on Gardiners Rd.
The female is described as white, 50-60 years of age, brown hair in a ponytail, heavier set, with moles on her face. The vehicle is described as a grey hatchback.
The youth suffered minor injuries.
