Woman Charged after Assault with Camera

A 53-year-old local woman has been arrested after she smashed the victim on the head with a camera.


On February 9, 2018 the accused became upset with the victim when he declined going out for the evening. The accused eventually left, but returned approximately 30 minutes later even more upset and started yelling at the victim. When the victim ignored the accused she became angry and picked up a digital camera which she struck him across the head with, causing injury.


Police attended the residence at approximately 10:45 p.m. and on arrival the accused was irate and could be heard yelling and screaming. The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.


The accused was charged with assault with a weapon.
