UPDATE: Three More Arrests in Violent Retribution Attack

On April 1, 2018 Kingston Police arrested and charged a 32-year-old local man and 31-year-old local man for taking part in a violent retribution attack after losing a consensual fight. Through the on-going investigation detectives identified and formed grounds to arrest three additional men for their role in the attack.

 

On April 6, 2018 detectives located and arrested a 27-year-old local man at an address on Montreal Street. The accused was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. The accused was charged with assault cause bodily harm.

 

On April 9, 2018 patrol officers arrested a 29-year-old local man at an address on Montreal Street. The accused was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. The accused was charged with assault cause bodily harm.

 

On April 12, 2018 members of the Kingston Police Street Crime unit arrested a 32-year-old local man at an address on Conacher Drive. The accused was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. The accused was charged with assault cause bodily harm and breach probation.

A 32-year-old local man and 31-year-old local man have both been arrested for taking part in a violent retribution attack after losing a consensual fight.

 

On April 1, 2018 at approximately 4:00 a.m. the victim and the 32-year-old accused met outside their apartment building on Divisions Street, to settle a dispute with a fist fight. The 31-year-old accused was present and while the two were fighting he grabbed a weapon from his car and approached the fight. When the victim knocked the 32-year-old unconscious, the 31-year-old attempted to hit the victim with the weapon, but missed. The victim then punched the 31-year-old before returning to his apartment.

 

A short time later the victim was taken from his apartment by the 32-year-old wielding a weapon. The victim was escorted back to the parking lot where both accused along with several other males proceeded to attack him. The victim was knocked down and then punched and kicked until he fell unconscious. A female who attempted to stop the attack and was struck in the head. Police and Frontenac paramedics responded to the location and the victim was transported to hospital.

 

The two accused were arrested later in that morning after attending police headquarters. The 32-year-old was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and assault. The 31-year-old charged with assault. Both were held pending a bail hearing.
