Shoplifter Caught Carrying Knife and Drugs

A 29-year-old local woman is facing multiple charges after a failed attempt to steal a bottle of liquor.
On September 12, 2017 at approximately 6:45 p.m. the accused attended a store on Barrack Street. The accused selected a bottle of liquor and left the store without paying. When she was stopped by store security the accused attempted to resist arrest and refused to cooperate.
Police were called and the accused was arrested without further incident. During a search officers located a flip knife concealed in her bra and a small quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine in her purse.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with theft, carry concealed weapon, possession of a controlled drug and breach undertaking.
