Man Threatens Police with Syringe

On May 19 at approximately 1:45 a.m. a Kingston Police Sergeant on Patrol noticed a man crouched down on the sidewalk on Rideau Street near Cataraqui Street. The man was injecting himself with a syringe. Another officer joined the Sergeant to arrest the man who stood up and raised the syringe over his shoulder in a threatening manner. A struggle began and the man was eventually taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged possession of a controlled drug and resist arrest.
