Man Arrested for Assault after Bragging to Witnesses

A 21-year-old local man was arrested for assault after he punched the victim and then allegedly bragged about it to witnesses.
On February 10, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the victim was with friends at a downtown coffee shop on Princess Street. The accused who is known to the victim came in and invited him outside for a smoke. Once outside the accused punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall and suffer minor injuries. The accused then went back into the restaurant where witnesses reported he bragged about the assault before leaving.
On February 12, 2018 the accused was located at his residence and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters where he was later released with a future court date.
The accused was charged with assault, and three counts of breach probation.
