Man Arrested for Administering a Noxious substance to Colleague

A 25-year-old local man has been arrested for administering a noxious substance to a male colleague and former roommate.


On January 29, 2018 Kingston Police were called to Queen's University to meet with Queen's Security in relation to a suspected poisoning involving two graduate students. After becoming ill, the victim accused a fellow researcher and former roommate of poisoning his food.


The victim reported that food he brought to work over the past few weeks had a bitter taste and was making him ill. Furthermore, every Friday when he drove home to his family the victim reported that his water had a chemical taste and smell.


On January 29, 2018 the accused was captured on video administering a clear substance in the area where the victim’s lunch is kept.


The accused was located at his residence and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing the following day.


The accused was charged with administer noxious chemical, and assault with a weapon.


The victim has sought medical attention as a result of this incident.
