Kingston Police Investigate 2 Hoaxes

On March 18, 2017 between midnight and 2:00 a.m. Kingston Police responded to two bomb threats. Both threats involved establishments in the downtown core of Kingston.
Kingston Police responded with the appropriate resources and took the necessary measures to ensure public safety. Both threats were found to be hoaxes.
Kingston Police are currently investigating the source of both complaints and criminal charges will be laid upon identification of the persons responsible.
The public should be aware that this type of hoax/prank is a serious matter. When emergency resources are utilized for a complaint that turns out to be a hoax/prank, the concern is the availability and response time for a real emergency.
