Appearance of Patrol Car Sends Knifed Prowlers Running

A 31-year-old local man and a 30-year-old local woman are facing charges in relation to prowling at night and pulling a knife on a witness.
On February 23, 2018 at approximately 3:30 a.m. the two accused were seen checking car doors in the area of Weller Avenue. When a witness confronted them, the accused male pulled a knife. The sudden appearance of a cruiser patrolling the area stopped any further confrontation as the two accused fled.
The accused parties were not located on the night of the incident, however both parties were identified by police and warrants for their arrest were issued.
On March 2, 2018 the accused female was located and arrested during a traffic stop. While searching the accused, officers found a quantity of suspected cocaine. The accused was transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing. The accused was charged with prowl at night, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of breach probation
Since the incident the accused male was arrested on an un-related matter. On March 7, 2018 upon his release, the accused was re-arrested and held to attend a bail hearing in relation to this matter. The accused was charged with prowl at night, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
