Thieves Cut Man's Pants to Steal Wallet

Two local men aged 23 and 28 have been arrested after stealing man’s wallet while he slept.

On July 13, 2018, the victim was out with friends in the downtown core. After a night of drinking, the victim fell asleep in the lobby of an apartment building on Queen Street. When he awoke, he discovered his front pant pocket had been cut and his wallet was missing. The victim soon realized that his debit card had been used at a store nearby. Kingston Police Detectives were able to obtain video in the store and identify both accused.

 

On September 26 the accused men were arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The 23-year-old was charged with theft, using a stolen credit card and breach of probation. The 28-year-old was charged with theft and using a stolen credit card.
