Man Stopped for Driving Complaints, Now Facing Several Charges

On November 30, 2018 at approximately 1:50 a.m. a patrol officer located a vehicle on Sutherland Drive that had been the subject of several recent driving complaints. The patrol officer approached the accused as he was exiting the vehicle. The accused verbally identified himself and was arrested after the officer recognized him and realized the accused was providing a false name.
During a search, the accused was found to be in possession of a small amount of crystal methamphetamine. The accused was also found to be under two driving suspension and as a result the vehicle was seized and impounded for 45 days. During a search of the vehicle several registration documents for other vehicles not in the accused name were found. The vehicle registrations were seized for further investigation.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.
A 24-year-old local man was charged with obstruct police, possession of a controlled substance, and three counts of breach probation, and two counts of drive while under suspension.
