Kingston Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit Makes 4th Arrest this Month

On May 15, 2018 images of suspected child pornography were uploaded to a Google Photos account. Google reported the images to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States. The IP address associated to the incident was determined to be based in Kingston and the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre was notified.
On October 11 the Kingston Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit took over the investigation and obtained judicial authorization on October 16 to identify the subscribers address.
On November 22, a search warrant was executed at the subscriber's residence. The accused was present during the warrant execution and was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing
A 50-year-old local man is charged with possess child pornography, and access child pornography.
