January is Alzheimers awareness month

Release Date: January 10, 2019

A Vulnerable Persons Registry has been accessible for Kingston residents since September 2018. The on-line registry is voluntary and free of charge. The purpose of the registry is to provide Kingston Police with immediate information in an urgent situation involving a vulnerable person. Helpful information includes physical descriptors, a current photograph, habits, and best communication techniques for the individual. The registry process is not difficult and you can get started on registering a loved one at https://www.kingstonpolice.ca/services-resources/online-vulnerable-person/.

We are promoting the registry in the hopes of increasing the numbers. The Alzheimers Society of Kingston Frontenac Leeds and Addington is available to assist anyone with the registration process.
