Accused identified after investigation into voyeurism incident

On December 18, 2018 at approximately 6:00 p.m. the male accused entered a woman’s washroom on Queen’s campus. While in the washroom a female victim observed the accused reaching under a stall partition and using a cellphone in an attempt to record her. The victim fled and alerted a passerby and together they confronted the accused as he exited the washroom. After a brief conversation the accused left the area. Queen’s Campus Security and Emergency Services was notified and Kingston Police were contacted.


Detectives with the Kingston Police Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation and with the assistance of Campus Security and Emergency Services were able to identify the accused.


On January 9, 2019 police located and arrested the accused. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was later released on conditions with a future court date.


A 21-year-old local man was charged with voyeurism.
