An 18-year-old Kingston woman is under arrest and facing charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon following a confrontation that resulted in a 17-year-old male being transported to hospital with multiple stab wounds.

At approximately 6:15 p.m. Kingston Police as well as Frontenac Paramedics were dispatched to an apartment complex located on Van Order Dr where the male was located with serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his torso and elsewhere. The female accused also had superficial cuts and both were transported to hospital for medical attention.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit, with support from Forensic Identification, attended on scene and after further investigation obtained reasonable grounds to charge the woman with the stabbing of the male. It was determined this was not a case of intimate partner violence. Once medially cleared she was arrested at the hospital and transported to police headquarters, where she is scheduled to attend a bail hearing. The teen male victim was later released from hospital.
