On April 11, 2019 at approximately 10:40 p.m. the male accused was observed by police driving a motor vehicle northbound on Montreal Street near Hickson Avenue. Police identified that the validation sticker on the vehicle’s licence plate was expired and subsequently initiated a traffic stop. The accused provided a false name to police indicating that he did not have his licence in his possession at the time. Further investigation by police revealed that the accused was using a family member’s name to identify himself. The accused was also on court imposed conditions and was currently a suspended driver.


On April 11, 2019 at 10:45 p.m. the accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.


A 44-year-old local man was charged with obstruct police and breach recognizance.
