On September 8, 2019 at approximately 5:20 p.m. members of the Kingston Police Drug Unit and Emergency Response Unit executed a search warrant at a Rideau Street residence in downtown Kingston.


The accused was located and subsequently arrested at the residence. He was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.


Police seized a large amount of currency, a quantity of the schedule 1 substance Fentanyl, and various firearms and prohibited weapons. The investigation is ongoing at this time.


A 51-year-old local man was charged with possess schedule 1 substance Fentanyl for trafficking, possess firearm other than restricted without holding a licence, five counts possess firearm while prohibited, possess weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of proceeds of crime, two counts breach undertaking, and three counts breach probation.
