On November 29, 2019 at approximately 10:15 p.m. the male accused approached a vehicle in the 300 block of Brock Street. The accused had a bottle of wine in his hand which he proceeded to throw at the windshield of the car causing damage. The accused then fled the scene and police were contacted.

Police responded and as they searched the area the accused was observed by another witness in the area of Sydenham Street and Johnson Street. The witness, who was also driving a vehicle, was approached by the accused, who was on foot, who then proceeded to strike the driver’s side mirror causing damage. He then was observed banging on other automobiles as he walked away.

Police located the accused in the middle of the intersection of Johnson Street and Sydenham Street. Upon observing the police arrive the accused took on an aggressive stance while yelling obscenities at them. Police observed that the accused appeared to be heavily intoxicated.

Police arrested the accused at approximately 10:28 p.m. and transported him to police headquarters. While waiting to be booked into cells the accused kicked one of the officers in the hip. He was held in police custody to attend a bail hearing at a later date.

A 28-year-old Marmora man was charged with assault peace officer, two counts mischief under $5000, and breach probation.
