Release Date: February 11, 2019

On February 9, 2019 at approximately 11:15 p.m. police, while on general patrol, observed the male accused walking with an associate in the area of Patrick Street and Stephen Street. The accused immediately fled on foot and was located shortly after on Kent Street. As police approached the accused he threw a baggy from his pocket containing a substance suspected to be crystal methamphetamine.

Police arrested and searched the accused and located a second baggy of suspected crystal methamphetamine in the pocket of his pants. The accused attempted to destroy the baggy that he had thrown on the ground by stepping on it with his foot however police were able to salvage the contents.

The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.

A 52-year-old local man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and three counts breach probation.
