On the morning of June 10, 2019 an argument began between the male accused and female victim at their residence north of the 401 in Kingston. The two had been in a relationship for approximately 2 years. On this date the argument had escalated quickly at which time the accused had destroyed the victim’s cell phone. As the victim attempted to leave the residence with their infant the accused then punched her in the back and leg and then pulled at her hair. The victim fled from the residence and a Good Samaritan who had witnessed the assault drove her to safety.


Police responded and at approximately 12:05 p.m. located and arrested the male who was still at the residence.


The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.


A 20-year-old local man was charged with assault and mischief under $5000.
