Kingston Police Patrol Units were kept busy over Halloween weekend responding to numerous calls including one that lead to a significant arrest. Shortly after midnight on November 1st , 2021 Patrol Officers were dispatched to a business located on Bath Rd. between Gardiners Rd and Centennial Dr.
Initial information indicated that three individuals were observed in the rear grounds of this business property rummaging through boxes. As Police arrived on scene, they observed an individual flee from the property on a motorcycle. This male drove directly past responding Officers who were unable to stop him as he fled the scene. Two other individuals were still on the grounds as one also fled this time on foot and again managed to evade Police.
The third individual attempted to flee the scene also on a motorcycle, however he didn’t get far as a Patrol Officer was able to sprint towards the suspect, and remove him from the motorcycle. The suspect then managed to shake loose from the Officers grip and run away, but yet again the speedy Officer tracked the suspect down in a short foot pursuit and took him into custody at 12:30am.
A 32 year old Kingston man was subsequently charged with several offences including,
Break and Enter, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation.
