On May 7, 2019 at approximately 2:15 a.m. the accused ran a red light on Bath Road at Palace Road in plain view of a patrol officer. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made several observations the accused was impaired by alcohol.

The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided two breath samples. The accused was found to have more than 1 ½ times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A 26-year-old local man was charged with impaired driving by alcohol, and drive with blood alcohol equal or over 80 mg.

The accused was later released with a future court date. His driver’s licence is automatically suspended for 90 days and would face a one year suspension if convicted. The vehicle was seized and impounded for 7 days, with the accused being responsible for all fees and fines.
