On the morning of August 10, 2019 the female accused and male victim were involved in a heated argument inside their west end Kingston residence. The two had been involved in a relationship for approximately 10 years and on this date the exchange had begun over suspected infidelities within the relationship. During the argument the accused swung a cooking pan at the victim striking him in the shoulder.


The victim left the residence in an attempt to deescalate the argument however upon returning at approximately 12:15 a.m. found a large assortment of his clothing strewn on the front lawn. The pair argued again inside the residence at which time the accused took a pair of scissors and began cutting up various shirts belonging to the victim.


The accused then grabbed a case of beer and began to throw cans of beer at the victim. One can of beer struck the victim in the head as he was attempting to leave the residence.


Police responded and at approximately 9:45 p.m. located and arrested the accused at the residence.


The accused was transported to police headquarters where she was later released on conditions with a future court date.


A 39-year-old local woman was charged with two counts assault with a weapon and mischief under $5000.
